A Sweet Tale

In north Vermont I turned the tap,
And what came out was maple sap.
It is a very pleasant drink,
But it makes for a sticky bath, I think.

Time Out

Looking for something to entertain
He sat in the chair and strained his brain.
His brother said, “If I could choose,
I’d sit in yonder corner and muse.”

Nook Nook

I have a cozy little nook
Where I can sit and read a book,
Solve the crime and catch the crook,
Fly away to outer space,
Or go on earth to any place.
Today when I went to my nook,
I took my new electric book.
It has a small but tough glass screen
Where words and pictures may be seen.
It’s black and read and very thin,
But often needs to be plugged in.
If there is but a partial charge
The time for reading is not large.
I read today about an hour,
Then I had to go and look for power.

“We are going to have to improve eyes.”

Stock Market

It doesn’t take a real magician
To put you in a bad position.
When you make an acquisition,
It only takes one bad decision.

Bedtime Story

My night stand top is much too small.
I can scarcely see my clock at all.
It’s behind my water, lamp and phone,
Two remotes and a book I own.
And now there is another issue:
I need some space for a box of tissue.
